Chillai Kalan (One of the coldest and most known seasonal periods of Jammu and Kashmir particularly in Kashmir and Leh divisions)
It is a cold period in which the people of Leh division and Kashmir Valley are total aware of it's attitude.The max and min temperature remain between +10 °c and -15 °c within these two divisions.Sometimes went down to more than -20 °c in ladakh division. It always starts from 21st December upto 31st January. During that period people all over the world come here to enjoy with snow in this period.Particularly Indian people loving this weather and also enjoying too.The Kashmiris are very careful to preserve stocks such as coal,pulses,warm clothes etc before the arrival of this period to protect themselves from it's coldness.
